| Clonea Strand Beach - a European Union Blue Flag Beach for Safety and Cleanliness. The mile long strand of sand is certainly the most outstanding for 30 miles in either direction along the coast. It is a 10 minute drive from Draw Well Cottage. |
| Dungarvan Town - Ireland's 22nd largest urban centre at 8,000 people. A bustling place with some truly world class restaurants, supermarkets, two museums, Tourist Office, cinema, the works. It's just large enough without being overcrowded. The location is spectacular with Dungarvan Bay and the Colligan River providing miles of seafront and river vistas. |
| Waterford Crystal - The world famous Crystal plant and free tour is a 35 minute drive on a recently completed national road. Waterford City has given itself a complete remake and the transformed downtown is worth a visit. |

Comeragh Mountains - Or, give yourself a day in the mountains. The Comeraghs are uncrowded and spectacular with huge glacial coums and lakes and waterfalls. The half mile walk beneath towering cliffs to Mahon Falls is well maintained. There's plenty more - within an hour's drive is Kilkenny City, Cork City, the Rock of Cashel, the famous Vee Drive through the Knockmealdown Mountains, Ardmore with its Round Tower and lovely beach, Lismore Castle and Gardens, Ballysaggartmore Towers, the list goes on and on.
